I paint with strong color and high contrast, desiring to create ‘iconic’ imagery of Canada and places around the world where I have lived and worked. I have developed a series of work based on photographic material from the National Archives which is ‘imagined’ into paintings bringing to life  Canadian history.

I consider my work to be both modern and classical, European and Native. I believe that Art is a cyclical experience and not a linear evolution towards some final result. I believe that the circle has been closed and a painter can place themselves stylistically anywhere on the circle and still speak with a contemporary voice.
